Noovis’ Mike Watts hand-picked by BICSI subject matter expert – team leader to help create 6th edition of OSPDRM

In June, Mike Watts, co-founder and vice president of operations for Noovis, was selected by SME-TL (Subject Matter Expert Team Leader) John Adams to participate in the revision of the 5th Edition Outside Plant Design Reference Manual (OSPDRM).

“I chose Mike because he has real life experiences in OSP and is considered to be among the top experts in the outside plant industry. I’m thankful that he accepted my offer to join the team,” said Adams.

“I am honored and grateful to be chosen by John Adams, and I look forward to working with the team in getting this important document revised. It’s great to be associated with such a fine organization like BICSI and people like John,” said Watts.

BICSI is the worldwide association for cabling design and installation professionals. They strive to provide information, education and knowledge assessment for individuals in the information and communications technology (ICT) community.

Written by industry experts representing thousands of completed projects, the OSPDRM focuses on outside plant properties and contains detailed information applicable to all projects large and small. In addition to covering traditional infrastructure subjects such as cabling and pathways, the OSPDRM also covers items not typically found within interior design work, such as right-of-way, permitting and service restoration. The OSPDRM is recognized by the US Army I3A Technical Guide which is a 100+ page document focused primarily on outside plant.
