Department of the Interior – US Fish and Wild Life

Noovis was chosen to by Netorian, a global technology solutions provider, to team for a fiber optic installation for the United States Department of the Interior.  The project called for the installation of over 20,000′ of fiber optics on the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service’s Patuxent Research Refuge.

A reliable high-speed network is imperative to conduct efficient operations for the only national wildlife refuge established to support wildlife research. A request for quote was released via GSA schedule 70 and the subsequent Fiber Optic Modification Task Order was awarded in the summer of 2017. Recognizing that the Task Order’s requirements to place Outside Plant (aerial and buried) as well in-building fiber optics fit neatly into Noovis’ core competency, Netorian selected Noovis to provide the turnkey solution for the effort. Noovis engineered and installed nearly four miles of fiber optics to connect multiple buildings across the 12,841 acres that the Patuxent Research Refuge encompasses. Once the fiber optics were placed, Noovis completed all splicing and testing efforts, to ensure a seamless network was handed off to the USF&WS. Working in this capacity, Noovis managed day to day activities of the build to complete the project on time and within budget while Netorian provided project and contract management for the effort
